These folks handled my Grandmother's funeral in 2014. I was not overly impressed.

TOO EXPENSIVE for the services:

The newspaper ad info was incorrect. I asked fir a refund of 45$ bc it was misprinted, and was refused, even though I had just given them nearly 12Grand, for their in my opinion unprofessional services.

Cornerstone handled all of the arrangements for one of my uncles in December of 2011 and handled another uncle in December of 2015. Both times our families have used their services they have done an outstanding job. The staff is extremely helpful and compassionate and the facilities are beautiful. I am a Funeral Director in another state and my grandmother just recently passed in Rocky Mount and I handled everything from my Funeral Home. The staff of Cornerstone more than willingly stepped in to help me handle all of her arrangements. We could not have asked for better experiences any of the three times we have enlisted their help for services.

When the owner was gathering information, I felt as if I was on trial for being married twice, and having more than two children. I was nearly browbeaten for giving some personal info. Looked at sternly, and when speaking although I was paying the bill, I was many times not asked or even addressed about important things. It was obvious that payment was a very important topic and made very clear, numerous times, that nothing would be done unless payment was immediately and given prior to servicing. I felt as if I was being spoken to as a poor patron and financially inadequate, although I was not.

Charged almost 12Grand, just for embalming, running ads, and burial. Our church held the services, not their staff or the facility, the wake was at the church also, so I’m not sure what the huge bill was even for. I didn’t feel my loved one looked as good as he could have and the lips were sewn crooked. He appeared as if they used too much bc swelling was present.

The meeting was rushed. I didn’t feel like there was much concern for a grieving person. The staff/owner was visibly rude when it took more than 2-5 minutes to gather the family for the walk through prior to the church service(which was not in the funeral home). I felt as though we were more of a burden than a patron.

This rating may seem aweful but I’m just being honest. Other than these things I have mentioned, it was ‘OK’. I didn’t at any point feel comforted by them.
